  4. I also have an Astroscan – can you tell me, is it safe to use for solar projection without a special filter? I know it would be blinding to look into the eyepiece, that is not what I mean by safe. I mean, the Astroscan won’t melt from the Sun’s intensity being focused on the eyepiece?

    I would like to use it for the transit of Venus on June 5th. Thank you!
