First time to see the PAGASA Observatory Telescope!!!

I would like to thank Nico Mendoza, BS Astronomy student from Rizal Technological University and currently one of the three OJT trainees at the PAGASA Observatory for the opportunity to see the largest telescope in the Philippines last January 27, 2012. I wrote about this telescope a year ago but during that time, it was not yet used for observation. Thank you PAGASA for allowing now the public to visit and see the 18 inch (45m) Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope! 🙂

My boyfriend took these images while I was in awe and busy looking at the telescope:

I’m beside the 45cm (18inch) PAGASA Observatory Telescope. This is the largest telescope in the Philippines.

I’m looking at the Orion Nebula through the eyepiece.

I’m curious with the Go-To controller…

You should also visit the observatory soon! Kindly contact PAGASA if you want to view the night sky using their telescopes (yes, they have other telescopes too!).

To the stars!
