First Art Exhibit

I am very happy to be part of an art exhibit and display one of my astrophotos. Two UP Astrosoc members (Julee Olave and Bea Banzuela) also participated in the said exhibit. Thank you Ms. Vivian Limpin (one of the two main artists and also a UP Astrosoc member) for the opportunity and for organizing this event!

Press Release:

The Beauty of Doing It For the First Time

A photograph of an everyday item ignored.

… A painting interpreting shadow and light.

A mixed media work appealing to the abstract mind.

With a bit of apprehension, plenty of expectation and boundless inspiration, 26 artists will expose themselves to the world for the first time.

Ranging from photos to paintings to multimedia art, these first time exhibitors show their take on life, love and the many things in between. The beauty of these new works lies in the discovery of passions – some previously hidden, some eagerly explored, some tentatively mastered.

But regardless of the how and the why these passions have come to the fore; these 26 come together to show where their passions have taken them.

With works stemming from even more diverse backgrounds – writing, tattooing and teaching, to name just a few; the miscellany is sure to create an interesting combination of art that hopes to reach out, make an impression or just simply be a form of expression.

‘Bungad: Mga Unang Pagtatanghal’ celebrates diversity, art, passions and doing it – being in an exhibit — for the first time.

Accompanying these first time exhibitors are two veterans in the world of art. Vivian N. Limpin and Doris Rodriguez.

Vivian has been professionally celebrating the arts through her photos and paintings and other media for more than ten years now.

Doris is an animation artist and her works range from watercolors to installation art. This is her fifth exhibit.

They both remember the joy and beauty of hanging their first piece in an exhibit. Their works continue to enlighten, inspire and provoke.

TANGLAW: 2D and 3D Works by Vivian N. Limpin and Doris Rodriguez opens on November 11, 2011 at 7pm at Conspiracy Café, 59 Visayas Ave, QC. (9206517/ 4532170)

Both exhibits run until December 9, 2011.
