March 19, 2011 SuperMoon in the Philippines

I saw the “super” full moon at a beach resort in Zambales, Philippines while having dinner with my boyfriend, fellow geologists, and young softball players. All of us saw the full moon as it rose in the east. One of them even witnessed how big the full moon appeared as it neared the ocean before dawn.

In Metro Manila,  the University of the Philippines Astronomical Society (UP Astrosoc) and the Astronomical League of the Philippines (ALP) held public observations and offered free telescopic views of the full moon. UP Astrosoc members observed at the Sunken Garden in U.P. Diliman while ALPers observed in Mandaluyong City.
