One Passion and Sidewalk Astronomy

Last night was one of my most unforgettable experience in sharing my love for Astronomy. Despite cloudy skies, UP Astrosoc and RTU Astrosoc were able to show to the public the brighest stars such as Sirius, Betelgeuse, and Rigel; also the three stars of Orion’s belt and the Orion Nebula. The children went ecstatic when they saw the stars through telescopes. But what really touched my heart was the boy who lives in the park. He asked me if the group will come back soon and do again the activity. He said he’s just there and would wait for us. This boy is really interested to learn more about the night sky. I hope more Astronomy groups would do the same.

Thank you U.P. Astrosoc members for holding  the event and also RTU Astrosoc members for joining us.

I hope that one day all Philippine Astronomy organizations will unite and come up with a grand Astronomy event.  As mentioned by Christopher Louie Lu of ALP, “different associations, one passion”.

Mabuhay ang Philippine Astronomy!

To the stars!
