The meteor activity will occur for almost two weeks (from Dec. 7 to Dec. 17). • Hi Donna,

Lahat libre except for the Astrocamp Observatory at SM MOA.🙂 Where do you plan to observe? I’ve already included a map on how to get to the PAGASA Observatory in UP Diliman.

      Clear Skies,
      Erika

  5. Thank you for posting these,🙂 ang tagal narin mula nung last ako maging active sa astronomy, hehe, dumating na rin yung favorite time of the year ko mag observe, mas gusto ko kasi mga winter set, ngayon ko lang nakita yung website na to rin, dati ang tagal ko naghahanap ng astro club sa Philippines, yung mga nakita ko before sa internet kasi parang di na active, atleast ngayon nakakita na nga, I am from pampanga pala,🙂 I am using a reflector na 700mm, tapus may inoorder ako dobsonian 8″, di ko lang alam anu maganda lenses para dun. salamat pala ulit! looking forward sa mga geminids!

    • Hi Daryl,

It’s nice to meet a fellow filipino amateur astronomer! Naku, madaming active na Philippine astro orgs ngayon. Dami na din nilang activities. Minsan daan ka dito sa manila… pero malamang mas maganda langit diyan kaysa dito.🙂 Did you order your 8″ dob from Allen Yu? I also have an 8″ dob at sa kanya ko binili.😀

      Clear Skies!!🙂

      Erika

  7. Hi Erika,

Ano kaya mas magandang puntahan na location for tonight, MOA or sa UP Diliman? Also, can you please show me the link nung map ng UP?

I can send to your email address instructions on how to get to PAGASA Observatory.

  8. yepee! an awesome shower to end the year.. up up and away.. this will be my first taste of the annual Geminid Meteor shower.. God bless us with a clear sky.. =D

      • hi!
so happy na nakita ko ang site mo na devoted sa mga heavenly activities…. since i was a kid e fascinated na din ako sa mga nakikita ko sa kalawakan at night time…im so glad my daughter also love to gaze at the sky at night …last night we did some meteor gazing and we were lucky to see more or less 20 shooting stars in more than an hour (11:30 pm – 12:45am) sa sta. ana manila area po kami at fortunately the sky was clear up to about 12:30 am kaya kahit na medyo maliwanag ang vicinity e the brighter shooting stars were clearly visible…we also did the same thing during the leonids but unfortunately it was very cloudy then…kaya last night was a real memorable one for us…my daughter was screaming and gigling whenever a star shoots in the sky…😀 sensya na ha? i just wanted to share our expirience…sa mga taong im sure na nakakaintindi sa ganoong highs! … thank you …God bless! Thanks GOD!

      • Hi Nap,

Nakakatuwa naman po ang daughter niyo. I can imagine her joy and screams pag nakakakita ng meteors! How old is she? I got fascinated in astronomy as young as 11 years old. I’m sure madadala niya yan at di niya makakalimutan hanggang sa paglaki niya.😀 It’s nice to meet po a fellow Filipino amateur astronomer. Feel free po to share your experiences and observations. Last night, I only saw 4 meteors and others saw more than 10 meteors at the PAGASA observatory in UP Diliman.🙂 Pwede pa po magobserve until friday.🙂 Clear skies and God Bless din po!😀

  10. Hi po ulit!
Thanks po sa reply. My daughter is now 20 yrs old actually, kala nyo ho siguro bata pa siya…anyway since maliit naman siya e talagang fascinated na siya sa night skies just like me when i was still a kid. She’s very interested sa constellations at heavenly bodies nga e. One of her dreams actually is to own a good telescope para daw makita niya ang mga nasa langit pag gabi. We were not able to buy one during her schooldays kasi so ang isa sa mga una niyang bibilhin daw pag sumuwelda na siya is a good telescope. So medyo masuwerte po pala kami last night, medyo na cut short nga lang po ang panonood namin dahil nagkaroon ng ulap galing sa east mga 12:30, pero from dusk hanggang natago yong buwan mga past 11:00 pm e talagang napaka clear ng skies above sta.ana.kaya noong nawala yong buwan e ang ganda ng langit…pati maliliit na mga stars e visible sa langit….whew! sensya na po ulit ha? medyo makuwento po ako yata…sana suwertehin po ulit kami at tayong lahat mamaya…thank you very much po for your time, i feel so glad realizing that you have read my message…and nagreply pa kayo….God bless po.

    • Hi Nap,

Also feel free to share your observations and astro experiences dito po sa website.🙂

      Clear skies!

      Regards,
      Erika

      • Hi Erika,
Yes bata pa naman siya, and she’s still my baby. Parang ikaw ang bata mo pa pala…Di siya ang maswerte, ako yata kasi up to now na dalaga na siya e napaka close at mahal ako ng daughter ko. Anyway thanks again… we had a better night on the 14th, 9:30 pm kami nagstart magbilang and we stopped counting the meteora at our 25th but we saw much more after that. I actually went to bed at 2:15 am and my daughter went a little earlier. Tried to photograph the meteors also pero di ako makatsamba… tried again last night but unfortunately e napakakapal ng clouds…..thanks again ,
        and God bless…
