June 26, 2010 Partial Lunar Eclipse
This is the last eclipse in the Philippines for this year.
Despite a week of clouds, rainshower and thunderstorms, I was able to witness this partial lunar eclipse at the Manila Observatory. I failed to see the maximum eclipse due to rain and cloud cover but I still saw the moon in umbra from 8:20 pm to 9:00pm.
I observed with my boyfriend and officemates. We patiently waited for the eclipse despite the heavy rain and thick clouds which started at 6:30pm. We also failed to see the maximum eclipse at 7:38pm. Despite this, we never lost hope. In the end, everyone jumped with joy when finally the clouds slightly opened offering us a glimpse of the partially eclipsed moon.
