Solar Eclipse on January 26

The first eclipse of 2009 is an annular eclipse of the Sun, which will take place on January 26. The track of the Moon’s antumbral shadow begins at 2:02 PM, Philippine Standard Time (PST) in the South Atlantic and ends in the Celebes Sea at 5:54 PM (PST).

In Manila, Philippines, it will be observed as a partial eclipse and will start at 4:55 PM (PST), maximum eclipse at 5:51 PM (PST).

  1. Hello Erika, how was the eclipse? I couldn’t see it from Dumaguete because of the clouds and the rain. I was worried that i might not see it since i might still be in class, but we were dismissed early only to find out that the sun was covered by thick clouds… ūüė¶
