New Year’s Eve Double Conjunction

There will be a double conjunction on the early evening of Dec. 31, 2008. The two conjunctions will be between the waxing crescent moon and Venus and, between Jupiter and Mercury.

For Philippine observers, look in the west direction around 6:00pm to 6:30pm.
The Jupiter-Mercury conjunction will set around 7pm. The Venus-Moon conjunction will be visible until 8:30pm.

Here’s an image taken from Stellarium showing the planetary conjunction:

Happy Observing everyone!!

Happy New Year!!
